Life is made up of little bit everything. Trying to cope with today’s fast paced twenty first century business world is no easy task, but in order to grow and achieve success it is of paramount importance to declutter your mind and go ahead and unleash your will power.
How to DECLUTTER your mind :
1. Take people's valuable advice
Listening to valuable piece of advice given by other human beings could really help you clear your mind and find your inner strength. Individuals often are willing to share their life stories and you should be open and receptive to what they are saying as it could help you immensely along the way as well. Once you realize that you are not the only one who has to face problems and overcome tough situations then it will really help you to accept the fact that life is not easy for anyone. So always be receptive and listen to words of caution given by wise people.
2. Automate and Systematize
Establishing robust systems isn't an exciting task, but automating repetitive processes - both in your life and your work will free up valuable time you can use to think and create. Write standard email responses, set up a weekly grocery delivery and eliminate as much hands - on busywork as possible.
3. Embrace the junk drawer
The junk drawer is a home and office vice and necessity where you stuff crumpled up notes, maybe dead batteries, and all sorts of odds and ends that don't have a proper home. Surprisingly, this strategy can also work for your mind.
Instead of continually accumulating mental clutter, take a load off by dumping your thoughts onto an electronic page with a tool like Evernote. This allows you to share all your brilliant ideas, notes, lists, and saved articles that don't have another home into one digital place, which will help you clear out some valuable mental space - without adding papers and notebooks to your actual junk drawer.
4. Uncover your true aspirations
If your mind is in a consecutive mess, then you possibly may have made a wrong turn somewhere in the middle of the road. In this case, you need to re-evaluate your aspirations to find out what you are really after. Set aside chores for a moment, take your mind off the rut, and imagine yourself in ten years. Be precise and audacious, but realistic.
5. Narrow your focus

But the question is this : Are those things moving you toward a worthy, long - term goal? You need to look at where you want to get to, what it is you want to accomplish, what you want to do in your life. Then you need to be honest about whether your activity and actions are congruent with reaching that thing. If they're not, make a change. Spend time on the activities that will help your overall progress and growth.
7. Keep it simple
Nick Soban, the head football coach at the university of Alabama, said one time, he said the one thing he constantly asks himself is, what's the most important thing right now for the continued success of my program? And that what I am doing? He checks in daily with himself to make sure he's not wasting time on things that havenothing to do with what's important now.
Keep it simple and focused. You must eliminate silly distractions, anything that pulls you from that not thing.
The most successful people are the most focused on singular, straight forward goals. They are the people who are very good at rising above the noise and getting clear in their head about what it is they want to accomplish. They don't allow life and all its noise to overwhelm them. Theydon't let negative, frustrated, whiny people control how they think.
8. Focus on creation over consumption
The amount of information were exposed to can be incredibly overwhelming to process, while the time spent being creative can lead us back into your natural flow.
Creativity is a central part of being human, and its effects on health have been proven countless times. While I am not implying that we should all become professional artists, deadlines time to get creative, instead of watching TV, can help express our emotions, and find peace in our minds.
In daily life we can be spoiled with opportunities to learn and have new experiences and that's awesome - but turning down the external volume and tuning in with ourselves can allow you space for a real desire to emerge, and to make our lives more spacious, spontaneous, and intentional.
9. Build a mental tool kit
Imgine that you're always carrying a virtual toolbox with you. This is your mental tool kit, where every newly learnt understanding or technique, helpful thought or healthy belief should be stored away and carried everywhere, so that it can be reached for when anxiety or stress threaten negative thinking.
10. Meditate
It has enormous benefits both physically and mentally. Physically it controls your breathing patterns and increases lung capacity. Mentally it increases concentration, focus and decreases stress and anxiety. Studies have shown that while meditating your brain cells starts to change which can declutter your mind and make you calm and peaceful.
11. Find space in your mind
We often get caught in a loop of thoughts and feelings, by noting them as they come and go. It reduces the intensity of feelings of stress and worry by upto 50%. You're not trying to reject your thoughts or trying to stop having them altogether. It's like stepping onto the river of thoughts flow by as opposed to diving in and trying to reverse the flow.
12. Don't ingest negative things
Just like we should not ingest junk food or unhealthy foods. In the same way we should not ingest negative thoughts or things. Stuffs like watching TV, negative news, dumped informations should be avoided. Instead of them you can read, listen to calming music, go for a walk. It will benefit you in a healthy way.
13. Do one thing at a time
There was a time when multitasking was king, and everyone thought that if they didn't do it, they were wasting their time. That's all nonsense, as its proven time, and time again that focusing on more than one thing at a time is bad for you. And guess what? Multitasking is a surefire way to clutter your mind. Devote your full attention to one thing at a time, and you'll get far more done in the long run.
14. Let go
Let go off your baggage of past mistakes and misunderstanding. We all make mistakes at some point but it doesn't mean that you got permission to make your future the same. So let go off your ego to have stuff that you really don't want or need. Accept yourself as you are and progress in it.
15. Scroll responsibly
The average person now spends a staggering four hours of their day on their mobile phone and though much of this is as a result of clever algorithms designed to take advantage of our 'dopamine - driven' desires, we can take back some control. The iPhone has a setting which allows you to monitor how much time you have spent on apps. For android, you can download the app (the irony) which does the same.
Another simple tip I've found really helpful is to move apps that you use a lot off your home screen and bury them in a harder-to-access folder. Better still, remove them altogether. However, perhaps, the best thing you can do is to delegate all notifications from your phone - that way, you can be more mindful of when and how often you check your message rather than at the behest of a tiny, red notification bell.
16. Stop overcommiting
Its good to commit but just for being the hero who says 'yes' to every request can make you feel overwhelmed. And when that happens, your mind starts to clutter. So stop overcommiting and its OK to say 'no' when required.
17. Practice acceptance
Sometimes your negative thoughts are true. At those times, analyse your thinking to be sure that you're not exaggerating, catastrophizing or practicing black or white thinking. Your thoughts and feelings about the situation may be far worse than the actuality. Try not to add pain by struggling against reality. Accept 'what is', stop mentally fighting against it, and start working with it for your goal.
18. Shore up your boundaries
Shore up your mental boundaries and make them stronger. You don't need to overplate by saying 'yes' when you want to say 'no'. Keep the negative stuffs out of your boundaries.
19. Ditch technology for a while
All of these texts and social media notifications are only exacerbating that monkey mind of yours, so either turn that phone off or leave it in the other room for a designated portion of your day. That way, you can successfully quiet one of the main external noise creators in your life and fully focus on yourself.
20. Practice gratitude
It is one of the most effective way to declutter your mind and life. It slows you down to focus on all of your blessings. It helps you clear your mind thereby decluttering it.
